Lots of us are having to adapt, not only the way we live but the way we work. Working from home is becoming more and more common. Lots of people are taking this change to the way we are living to make that jump and escape the high costs of living in London and move to areas where they can work from home and still make a quick commute when required! The train journey taking 1hour and 13 minutes to Ramsgate from St Pancreas International.
Here at Future Homes, we are locals to East Kent, and we love our area. There is something for everyone one here. Whatever your passion, East Kent has what you need! Here are just a few reasons why you might want to move!
Our Award-Winning Beaches
East Kent really does have stunning beaches! Most of them award winning if I might add! Our bays are recognised by national awards such as the Blue Flag Awards and the Seaside Awards. There are also many Beach Huts available for hire along a lot of these beaches. These can be hired on a daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual basis! What’s not to like about that?
Margate Old Town
Called by some the Kent Riviera, Margate’s vibrancy as a seaside town with its eclectic mix of locals, artists, retirees, and Londoners, is well known.
Families are drawn to the ever-popular Dreamland amusement park as well as the relatively new Turner Contemporary Gallery, so named because of the artist’s long association with the town in the 19th century.
Margate Old Town is beautiful. It has lots of independent shops, lots of cafes, retro and vintage shops. It really is gorgeous. There is lots of history here and something for everyone.
Ramsgate Royal Marina
The remarkable Royal Harbour Marina was developed in 1976 and it holds The Four Gold Anchor Award. The Harbour Parade has a great range of cafés, bars, restaurants and hotels, all overlooking the gorgeous marina and the ocean beyond that.
The quaint historic seaside town has been home to many famous people including Charles Dickens, but attracts various musicians at the bandstand on those spring/summer evenings. The beaches are spectacular as is the abundance of quality pubs and eateries within a few hundred yards walk. Sit in one of the many establishments on the promenade overlooking the sea and watch the world go by.
East Kent is home to Westwood Cross Shopping Centre. Westwood Cross has a wide variety of bars, restaurants, well-known retailing brands and independent retailers. On top of this you will find a Vue Cinema as well as the Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo Hall! Again, something for everyone here!
There are lots of trails and walks around East Kent. You can walk to Reculver from Minnis Bay! This is an easy access walk making it suitable for buggies and wheelchairs using the path along the sea wall. The entire length of the route is flat, a great route for all the family. Then you have our Viking Coastal Trail. Whether you are a keen cyclist or a beginner, you will find lots to enjoy along the 32-mile (51.4km) route on the Isle of Thanet. Obviously, you don’t have to do it all in one go! These are just two examples of what there is to explore! There is much more where they came from!
We have properties under construction, and they are coming soon. One of these could be your new home! Check out the links below to find out more!
